FAQ
Pageviews, custom goals, outbound clicks, and identify calls. Time-on-site heartbeats don't count toward the quota. Totals are across every website on your account.
We'll email you before you hit the cap so you can move up a plan. Upgrade anytime.
If you stay over the limit, new events pause until you upgrade — existing data stays put. Congrats on the traffic.
Yes. Trackela includes a 7-day free trial. No credit card. Start free.
Trackela is built so you can run it in line with GDPR expectations. You (the site owner) are the controller for visitor analytics; we process data on your behalf.
The default script uses first-party cookies to recognize returning visitors. That gives the most accurate journeys and revenue attribution. In the EU/UK you may need a cookie banner for that mode — same as most cookie-based analytics.
There is also a cookieless script. It does not set Trackela cookies, so you typically don't need a banner for Trackela out of the box. Trade-off: it is less accurate, especially for revenue over weeks, because visitor IDs rotate about once a day.

No. Traffic, sources, live visitors, and Ask AI work without a payment processor. Connect Stripe later (Growth plan) when you want revenue tied back to the journey that paid.
Paste one snippet. Tracking ships HTML, Next.js, and React examples, plus an LLM install prompt you can drop into Cursor or similar.
Pageviews, SPA routes, outbound clicks, and checkout-return events fire automatically. Custom goals and trackela.identify are optional when you want sharper attribution.
Native revenue attribution is Stripe via webhook. Client checkout-return events are breadcrumbs; the webhook is the source of truth. Identify users after login so payments attach to the same visitor.
Yes. Create the website on your root domain (e.g. example.com) and install the same snippet on app.example.com, blog.example.com, and so on.
Set data-domain to the root so cookies (in default mode) stay unified across the whole domain.
Yes. Keep the website on your marketing domain and add the other hosts to data-allowed-hostnames. Links then pass a visitor id instead of counting as outbound clicks. Cookieless mode skips that link decoration.
Ask AI is a plain-language analyst on your own data — bounce, time on site, sources, and revenue. Five questions a day are included. Connect your own OpenAI (or compatible) key in Settings if you want more.
Starter includes one seat. Growth includes 30. Share the dashboard with teammates on the same plan — they see the same websites and live view.
Yes. Live widgets ship on both plans. Drop a recent-visitors widget on a marketing page without exposing the rest of the dashboard.
